    DAY 1

When you arrive at Chiang Mai Airport (international or domestic) you will be greeted by RW4UTours staff and transported you to your hotel.  Later that evening, get to know your fellow tour participants at the welcome drinks and dinner including our tour briefing, all while you enjoy some delectable local Thai cuisine.

    DAY 2

Today we explore Chiang Mai taking in the sights of the city.  The tour is on a Somlor (which translates as three wheels) and is a traditional style of transportation around the city.  For lunch you will end up at the famous Khao Soi shop (featured on the RW4U YouTube channel) where you will enjoy a magnificent bowl of the best Khao Soi on the planet. In the afternoon you will explore the sights of Chiang Mai on foot – here they are many traditional wats (Buddhist temples), pagodas and the famous wall/gates that surround the Old City. You will then end up at Tha Phae gate market where you can buy some souvenirs for friends and family back home.
In the evening we visit to Suthep Night Market for dinner and some guests might embrace Chris Parker’s $5 eating challenge. After dinner we visit the North Gate Jazz Co-Op. This compact jazz club tends to pack in as many musicians as it does patrons, with local and visiting instrumentalists offering nightly sets and experimental jam sessions. The performances are so inspired that a crowd regularly gathers at tables set up on the sidewalk. This will be an awesome evening.

    DAY 3

Today, we are going to the famous Elephant Sanctuary. The Sanctuary has a track record of sustainable and ethical treatment of these magnificent creatures. English-speaking guides give visitors an insight into the behaviour and the personal history of their elephants. The elephant mahouts handler help people realize incredible life experiences such as feeding the elephants by hand or bathing elephants.

After lunch at Food for Thought you are free to explore the city of Chiang Mai at your leisure.  You can walk around the streets, go shopping, sit in a coffee shop or a bar or even go back to the hotel and have a swim/improve your tan.

    DAY 4

Be prepared for a small drive as we are going to visit Huay Tung Tao reservoir.  Huay Tung Tao is a little gem just outside the city that is perfect for chilling out. You can relax in the beautiful gardens or engage in activities like swimming, cycling, walking or running.  Huay Tung Tao Lake is the perfect destination for all of these and more.

In the evening we will venture to the Nimman area of Chiang Mai.  Nimman (more specifically Nimmanheim Road) is a vibrant and exciting part of Chiang Mai.  Filled with many eateries (ranging from Michelin Star restaurants to street food). After dinner adjourn to one of the many bars located in the area to enjoy a beer, wine or cocktail (or 2).

    DAY 5

Today we will do a day tour that includes:

    • Monjam
    • Queen Sirikit Park
    • Mountain Restaurant
    • The Flower Community

A full day that will introduce you to the wonders of the regional environment and communities that surround Chiang Mai.

That evening you will enjoy a traditional Chiang Mai banquet (including some Northern Thai entertainment – dancing, singing and music).

    DAY 6

What a lovely day for a walk!  Today’s activity involves a walk around the reservoir located in Chiang Mai University.  In the afternoon we visit a wat (Buddhist Temple) where you will spend your time in meditation surrounded a beautiful waterfall. An amazing experience, learn Buddhism monks’ way of living, offering food and enjoy monk chat (an inspiring discussion is sure to ensue).

Tonight is a free evening to experience more of Chiang Mai.

    DAY 7

When you think about Chiang Mai – you think about Doi Inthanon.  We head to the highest point in Thailand and take in beautiful natural views along the way. You’ll spend time at Doi Inthanon National Park, check out beautiful waterfalls, and learn about the Karen people who live in the area (including a visit to the village of Sobhad).

In the evening there will be a Farewell Dinner and Drinks where you will get the chance to say a fond farewell with your new ‘family’.

    DAY 8

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.  For those of you leaving us to go home, you will be transferred to Chiang Mai International Airport.  We’d like to thank you for choosing us and hope that you enjoyed the tour.

If you are continuing to another module, you will be transferred to Chiang Mai Domestic Airport and continue the journey with us to either Koh Samui, Phuket or Bangkok.
